Depression is an intense feeling of sadness or grief which causes emotional and physical disorders. A depressed person exhibits loss of interest in outdoor activities, feels worthless, withdraws from folks and becomes suicidal. There are so many factors that triggers depression; abuse, poverty, death of a loved one, low self-esteem, genetic, neglect, victimization etc. It occurs mostly in adults and studies have shown that women are more likely to experience depression than men (The feeling of sadness accompanied with exhaustion during postpartum causes mood disorders) It can affect anyone! Fortunately, depression can be treated. Before treatment however, the victim must be diagnosed, interviewed and possibly examined physically. Also, blood tests are done to verify link to health problems like brain tumor and thyroid problem. These evaluations are conducted to ascertain the causations and solution plans. In most cases, antidepressants, psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Self-help to mention a few is described for depression cases. Depressed? We are all depressed at sometimes in our lives, burdened and imprisoned by the trials life offers. We are taken into a world of doubt and relegation. But; Do You Know? It is caused mainly by What You Think of Yourself and not What People Think of You. When the mind loses control, depression sets in. It is a slow killer, negates the mind and breeds nuisance.
